About the event
Composer and performer Lukas Huber, KlangLab and an ad hoc choir collaborate for a performance in which music is played that constantly threatens to fall apart. The performers search together for threshold values of the so-called present duration: when (and how) are temporally neighboring musical events still perceived as coherent and when (and how) as independent events? Third Eye attempts to allow music to skip / dissolve into space until only traces of an organ and a - literally - spineless backbeat remain.
During the season abbr. [abbreviations] KlangLab invites composers to compose a (too) long (40 - 60 min.) and a (too) short version (1 min.) of the same piece for the ensemble.
There will be musical abbreviations. The season's theme asks about motifs for abbreviated processes in music and whether these can be experienced by listeners?
Following the performances, KlangLab cordially invites you to a moderated discussion with the musicians and composers.
